We loved our first cozy-vibes retreat to Ireland in October 2025, and we’ve been looking for the perfect location for another sweater-weather experience! Enter: Santosha at Hillholm Estate!

We are headed to Kingfield, Maine in Fall 2027 during the peak of fall foliage to enjoy 5 nights of autumnal bliss. Hillholm Estate is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the mansion has been intentionally and comprehensively renovated to become a dream yoga retreat center. The yoga shala is a warm, cozy space lined with broad Maine pine shiplap with views through the pines and to the Carrabassett River below. Shala is fully climate-controlled and all props are provided!

The estate itself features a cedar barrel sauna and barrel jacuzzi overlooking a stand of majestic pines, through which you can gaze at the West Branch of the Carrabassett River and Mt. Abram. There are multiple outdoor fire pits, an extensive library, games, and even clay tennis/pickleball courts!

There are optional healing services available, too, including massages, Reiki treatments, and facials, and fireplaces inside to get cozy and read your favorite book or chat with your favorite people.

We will be practicing twice daily (both chill and challenging class styles!) in the pine-lined shala, as well as enjoying 4 farm-to-table meals together per day (pre-practice breakfast, post-practice brunch, lunch, & dinner.) At Santosha, food and joy are intimately connected, and the chefs on staff strive to craft a culinary experience in mindfulness, emphasizing seasonal, local ingredients from small Maine growers.

Santosha also features The Great Room bar, which offers Prohibition Era novelties with shrubs from Precessional Apothecary, house-made bitters, syrups, infusions, and aquavit. The mixology program features both intentionally crafted cocktails and mocktails, so there are truly options for everyone to enjoy.

More about Kingfield, Maine! Kingfield, the principal gateway to the Sugarloaf ski resort, is a quintessential northern New England village. It is nestled in a river valley surrounded by the Longfellow Mountain Range, and is known for its scenic qualities, including outstanding views of mountains, valleys, and rivers. There’s plenty of hiking nearby to enjoy the peak fall foliage in early October, to be sure to bring your hiking boots and your layers! We want to enjoy all that this beautiful area of the country has to offer!

Getting there: Santosha is located at 33 Winter Hill Street, Kingfield, ME 04947- it’s 2 hours from Portland and 3.5 hours from Boston! You could fly to Portland International Jetport (PWM) or Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and rent a car at the airport! There are also private transfers available if you don’t wish to rent a car; will be cheaper if we help you coordinate ride-sharing! The area is rural, so you will not want to rely on Uber/Lyft- we will help coordinate transportation in advance!

Included:

-5 nights accommodation in luxurious single or double occupancy rooms at Santosha at Hillholm Estate, available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All rooms have en suite bathrooms, luxury linens, homemade toiletries)

-Exclusive use of the estate, which includes a cedar-barrel sauna and jacuzzi, fire pit, and multiple fireplaces

-Twice-daily yoga: vinyasa in the morning and yin/restorative at night

-High-quality yoga mats and all props
